Traveling to Texas for Kellye and Dustin’s wedding was an adventure. It was a weekend that I’ll never forget- filled with love.love.love! Kellye and Dustin met when they were kids. They lived across the street from one another and Kellye being younger had a crush on the cute neighbor! During a speech, Dustin’s mom said that Kellye wasn’t allowed to leave the yard as a kid. So she would wait patiently on the very edge of the drive way, huge bow in her hair, and hand waving vigorously as Dustin would come home from practice. Then on family vacations- she mentioned that Dustin would complain because she’d follow him around and he just wanted to play with the boys…..Well it’s funny how things change! Years later after the families moved away- the two met again when their dad’s opened a company together. Shocked that Kellye had grown up…like most little girls do…Dustin told his mom “wow- she’s beautiful”. The two started dating and 7 years later have never been apart!
Their story was as wonderful as their wedding. It was packed with as much honest love as Texas sunshine!!! The event took place at her family’s lake house and couldn’t possibly have been more amazing!!!
Kick off your boots and stay for a while…the view is about to get pretty!
(love the unexpected…yes…an yellow jacket jointed in for their vows—Dad came to the rescue!)
(on a side note— the amazing baker had an accident the day of the wedding. Two hours out into the country side she saved a dogs life but the cake smashed. She then baked one from scratch in the lake house kitchen and for that I give her major applause. I’m sure it’s every cake artist worst nightmare but she deserves huge kudos. With little time- the cake hadn’t cooled and was trying to cut itself– as the pieces slid the couple sliced– made for some great expressions and memories)
